FFN #63: We're Winding Down for the Year - Are You?
This week: How we're planning on making $$’s while we chill , Jobs & More!
Time to Wind Down
The holiday season is officially here, and it’s the perfect time to start prepping your business for some well-earned rest. Give yourself the gift of at least a week completely off – no laptop, no emails, no Slack. Your brain deserves the break! Over the next four weeks, let’s focus on winding down, organizing, and setting ourselves up to rest, reset, and refuel for 2025! 🎄✨
Wisdom is knowing when to have rest, when to have activity, and how much of each to have.
👩🏽💻 Don’t Sleep on Automation
We all need a rest this holiday. But that doesn’t mean your business has to hit pause which can help soothe the entrepreneurial guilt of lack of productivity. Tysm Flodesk for creating the Link Actions feature. This gem lets you create automated workflows just by adding a link to your emails. So, whether you’re lounging in your PJs or off-sipping a beverage with friends, your business keeps running. Set up links that automatically trigger freebies, course sign-ups, or discount offers, and boom—you’re growing and monetizing while still enjoying the holiday downtime.
Plus if you’re new to workflows, don’t worry—creating your first workflow in Flodesk is super easy! Set it up once, and let it handle everything from welcome sequences to Q1 promos while you chill out, knowing your email marketing is getting you BOOKED for the start of 2025. It’s like having a little digital elf working behind the scenes for you! #partner
📆 Get Your Content Cal in Order
Once you know when / how much time you’re taking off. Plan out all your marketing content for December and the first few weeks of Jan. This will help keep your mind at ease and allow you to properly switch off for your break. We love to batch content ahead of time, so set aside some time for a shoot day. Stuck on content ideas? This reel will help you make a year’s worth of content ideas.
🕵🏼 Do a Deep Dive
Take a moment to reflect on what went well in your freelance biz this year and what didn’t. Even a quick self-review or feedback from clients can give you insight into areas for growth. Dive into your numbers—knowing your cash flow, expenses and what services sold well can help you understand your income patterns now to set you up for a more profitable 2024. Make sure your goals for next year are clear and focused. Whether it's landing bigger clients or expanding your services, having a vision will guide your work.
Rocket Money
I am totally guilty of having a million subscriptions I pay for and never use! I am literally throwing money in the bin and I want to leave that behind in 2024. Rocket Money has been a life saviour showing me what I am splurging on, cancelling subscriptions I don’t use, helping me budget and showing me my net worth! A definite hack for saving for the new year or the holidays in general.
Notion AI
We all know and love Notion, I don’t think a day goes by when I’m not using it to run my biz. Their new AI feature is chefs kiss!! I love that you can access knowledge from chatGPT, gain insights from PDF’s and generate cute onboarding docs in your brand style. It’s saved me sooo much time on client admin.
