New Year, Same Me, Fresh Clients

Happy New Year Freelancing Females! 2025 is here and we hope it will be your best year yet - both in biz and in your personal life. We know Freelancing wasn’t the easiest for most last year, it was a weird year of extremely busy periods and very dry seasons for a lot of freelancers. But with the growing freelance economy, we’re sure this year will be a good one! So let’s dive into a few of our fave places to find clients and keep 'em coming throughout 2025.

Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently.

☕️ Look for Opportunities

Sounds really obvious right? But are you looking for freelance gigs in the right places? There are so many freelance job boards out there so we’ve listed a few of our fave that post high-quality gigs here. Alongside the obvious job boards, follow hashtags on LinkedIn like #freelance or #freelanceopportunities. Apply for full-time gigs that catch your eye, often times you can turn these into freelance gigs by negotiating with the recruiter and outlining the cost savings to their business by hiring a freelancer instead.

👩🏼‍🏫 Create a Client Pipeline

Okay so you’d love to build a pipeline of client leads right? Well, how do we do that? Generally, we break down our business development efforts into four key steps:

  1. Prospecting (responding to ads, job boards and RFPs)

  2. Promoting (sharing your work, posting about yourself around the web)

  3. Networking (emailing contacts, meeting people, attending events, etc.)

  4. Thought Leadership (writing, speaking, teaching, etc.)

The top of the list is fast, easy, but generally less lucrative. As you work down the list the strategies are more difficult, take more time, but result in more sustainable, high-paying client work.

✨ Actually Show up on Social

Let’s be honest with ourselves, how much time do we spend on social media each week? If I’m asking myself honestly… it’s a lot. In 2025 let’s transform some of that scroll time into creating not consuming content. Many very successful freelancers gain clients from their social media presence. Just like we would look up brands or buy from cool companies on socials, people do the same with freelancers. Not sure what to post? Show BTS of your work, your onboarding process, previous pieces of work and how you would create work or strategy for a big brand. You never know who might see your content and jump at the opportunity of working with you.

Veed

Omg, not another software I need to purchase. We hear you! But listen this video editing software is Chefs Kiss! So user-friendly, has great caption options, easy gif integration and so many other great features. It seriously makes editing content SO much easier.

CorePower

Freelancing usually means hours sat at our desks each day, so its so important for our wellbeing that we get our bodies moving. I like the gym but sometimes it can feel a little intimidating and not the relaxing unplug I hope for. Cue CorePower Yoga, their workout classes kick my butt (especially the heated ones) and give me the space to unplug and distress during my work day.

🤳🏽 One of the most confusing and arguably most frustrating parts of freelancing is navigating the healthcare system without employer-sponsored health insurance. That’s why we partnered with Solo Health Collective to simplify your freelance health insurance. Catch the reply here! #partner
